Our first introduction to Springers was when we campaigned the lovely Aust & NZ Ch Wongan Sweet N Lovely .
The prefix PENITA was established in 1974. and over the years we have had a number of different breeds, but these days we concentrate on Springers and Cocker Spaniels.
Our foundation bitch was CH WONGAN PIPPIT - "Birdie" was sired by Ch Wongan Intonator (Ch Mompesson Midsummer Lad (Imp UK) X Ch Monclare Sugar N Spice (Imp UK) out of Ch Wongan Clan Bramble (Ch Clanach Argyle Tartan X Ch Monclare Sugar N Spice.
Birdie was a multi Class In Show winner and also won Best of Breed at the Royal Melbourne Show in 1984.
Birdie was mated to Ch Clanach Wrath O Khan (IID) and produced our multi Best In Show winning AUST GRAND CH & NZ CH PENITA ONTOP OTHEWORLD, who was a Best In Show winner in Australia & New Zealand.
Caddy had an incredible show career and was Tasmania's first Grand Champion Springer. He won 30 odd BEST IN SHOW awards and won our CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS three times.
He passed over to the rainbow bridge in 2001
Another of our Springers who had a big influence in our Kennels was
CH WONGAN STARLIGHT, who was also a Best In Show winner.
Pixie had three litters by Caddy and they produced our lovely Aust & NZ Ch Penita Aim For The Stars, also the Multi BEST IN SHOW winner CH WONGAN JAZZMAN.
